iHOST (International Hotel Outsource, Service and Technology (PTY) LTD) is a service company that operates mini-bars for hotels.
Cost benefit to operator using iHOST’s service:
- iHOST through its own existing park of mini-bars has been able to upgrade old unreliable technology and thereby increase reliability and efficiency of the service provided. An example is replacing noisy compressors with iHOST’s “Silent Compressor”
- iHOST has been able to find ways of renovating and repairing existing computerised mini-bars, that is cost efficient thereby extending the useful life of the mini-bar system.
- iHOST has developed a program of replacing components that are obsolete or rare with re-engineered products at competitive prices thereby extending the useful life of the mini-bars.
- iHOST, through its existing outsource operation and knowledge database, has been able to assist with product selection to insure the maximisation of revenue from the mini-bar. The maximisation of revenue, which is a focal point of iHOST’s services, encompasses enhancing awareness of the mini-bar in the Hotel Room, the design of the mini-bar menu, the selection of products, the arrangement of products in the mini-bar, all literature and promotions with regard the mini-bars and their operation.
- iHOST, in addition to the above, through experience, can assist with issues such as staff selection, staff attire, ancillary equipment such as trolleys to bring product from store room to mini-bars, cleaning products for mini-bars, maintenance and servicing schedules for mini-bars and the IT system, as well as management schedules to monitor the operation of the mini-bars.
The result of the above will result in better return on investment and therefore a more sound investment for both operator and hotel.
